Unconventional uses for beer

So we all love beer. It's not a secret that in America, Beer is a social lubricant as well as a make shift anti-depressant. What you may not know about beer,
is that it is the second most popular drink in America, behind tea. So, assuming that, you probably have a beer or two in the fridge right now.

I wanted to share a few unusual uses for beer. You can use flat beer leftover from last weekends beer pong tourney, or you can just use a freshly opened beer from the fridge. Your choice. Try some of these this week, I promise you wont be disappointed.

1. Use as a lawn rejuvenator. Pout a small amount, we are talking about a half a cup, onto the problem areas on your lawn and watch it return to green and grow. The fermented sugar kills  fungus and actually feeds the grass.

2. Use in your hair to bring back shine. Add 1 egg yolk to one cup of beer. Massage through hair and allow to sit for a few minutes. The time you take to shave your legs should be enough. Rinse completely and wash with your normal shampoo.

3. Use as a stain remover. Simply pour some beer onto the stain. Rub gently and rinse. Repeat if necessary.

4. Get a better nights sleep. Simply add some beer to the wash cycle of your sheets and pillow cases and wash as normal. The chemical compound in the hops helps with calming and relaxation.

5. Lastly, use as an insulator in your home. When building your home, replace regular insulation with unopened beer cans. The alcohol content in the beer will prevent it from freezing while the liquid and aluminum keep the cold from getting in your house. On a side note, I would not try this in a colder climate like North Dakota. If you live in Cali though, please try it!! If worse comes to worse, you can always break down a wall and have a drink or two!

If you have any ways that you use beer, aside from cooking and drinking, please share in the comments section!
